J/70s Ready to Fly

J/70 one-design sailboat- fastest sailing speedster in the world (Newport, RI)- The first J/70s are just starting to roll down the production line in Bristol, Rhode Island.  The hulls, decks and molds are simply breath-taking-- a synthesis of handmade craftsmanship and the most modern 5-axis CNC machines to produce perfectly symmetrical boats with perfectly fair lines.  It's exciting to see the new "baby J" unfold in front of our eyes- the boats look sweet!  Everyone is waiting with breathless anticipation to go sailing the "twin speedsters" in March- get ready for some "mano-a-mano" combat to see who can go higher and faster and plane the fastest at lowest TWA!

The passion and enthusiasm at recent sailboat shows has been nothing short of fantastic.  J/70 fleet discussions are underway in nearly every major sailing region in America and Europe.  Reports from the Strictly Sail Chicago show indicate there's interest from dozens of sailors from the local Etchells, Star, PHRF/offshore, Soling, Sonar, J/24 fleets and others looking to jump onto this little speedster!  We've had similar responses so far from San Diego, Annapolis, Boston, London, Dusseldorf and Gothenburg shows, and if all goes well, at Strictly Sail Pacific, too.

The recent announcement by New York Yacht Club to host the NYYC Invitational Cup USA Qualifiers in the J/70 has generated significant interest in this new "trailerable one-design speedster"-- learn more about this fantastic event being hosted at Harbour Court, Newport, Rhode Island in September.    For more J/70 one-design speedster sailing news
